Training a student at Central Africa Baptist University is not simply covering tuition – it is investing in the formation of a future pastor, church planter, chaplain, educator, or Christian leader whose ministry will serve churches and communities across Africa for decades.

To operate CABU and provide accredited, gospel-centered training, the annual institutional cost per on-campus student is approximately $4,500*. This amount supports faculty instruction, academic oversight, library and IT resources, student discipleship and care, campus operations, and the institutional systems that ensure long-term ministry credibility and sustainability.

Local income, tuition, and fees cover only about $470 per student. The remaining $4,030 must be provided through generous partners who believe in equipping African leaders for the work of the gospel.

How Student Sponsorship Makes a Difference

Student sponsorship is accomplished in two ways: by providing scholarships to qualifying students who need additional assistance and by providing subsidized tuition.

When you partner with CABU to sponsor a student, your investment helps to:

  • Provide biblically faithful, academically rigorous training
  • Sustain qualified faculty and mentors
  • Support student discipleship, housing, meals, and campus life
  • Maintain the infrastructure that makes training possible
  • Multiply gospel impact as graduates serve in churches, schools, chaplaincy, and missions

Most importantly, your partnership ensures that calling – not finances – determines who is trained for ministry.

A Clear Opportunity for Partnership

  • $4,030 – covers the annual sponsorship gap for one on-campus student (scholarship and subsidy)
  • $2,015 – covers the semester sponsorship gap for one on-campus student
  • $335 – covers the monthly sponsorship gap for one on-campus student year-round

The Long-Term Return

Every sponsored student represents a future leader who will disciple others, shepherd congregations, plant churches, serve in missions, or influence young lives through education.

Upon graduation, your investment in gospel advancement multiplies far beyond the classroom into churches, communities, and nations across Africa. A single student, faithfully trained, will serve thousands over a lifetime of ministry. When you invest in one student today, your impact will echo across Africa for generations to come.

And what you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses entrust to faithful men, who will be able to teach others also.2 Timothy 2:2

* The $4,500 per-student cost includes a $2,000 student-facing charge and a $2,500 operational subsidy. Most students are unable to meet the full $2,000; the average out-of-pocket payment is $470, with the remaining balance covered through scholarship assistance. The current annual funding gap is therefore $4,030 per student.
