A creed is a set of beliefs, principles, or opinions that strongly influence the way people live or work. This is the Creed we live and serve by at Central Africa Baptist University, and our constellation of ministries:
1. Our responsibility is to Christ, to reflect His character and values in everything we do both individually and corporately, regardless of the perceived or actual costs of those decisions.
Scripture: Colossians 3:17; 1 Corinthians 11:1; Luke 9:23; Philippians 1:20
2. Our responsibility is to our faculty and staff team. They are the men and women who engage daily in making disciples among our students and constituency.
Scripture: 1 Thessalonians 5:12–13; 2 Timothy 2:2; Hebrews 10:24–25
3. Our responsibility is to the church, never to do anything that usurps the local church’s authority or draws away allegiance. Therefore, our programs and academic offers must be for the edification and growth of church members, equipping them to serve Christ and His Church well.
Scripture: Ephesians 4:11–12; Matthew 16:18–19; Acts 20:28; Hebrews 13:17
4. Our responsibility is to be good stewards of God’s truth. We will courageously stand upon the authority and sufficiency of Scripture and honor Him with a literal hermeneutic.
Scripture: 2 Timothy 3:16–17; Psalm 119:89; Jude 3; 2 Peter 1:19–21
5. Our responsibility is to be good stewards of God’s creation; therefore, the campus and environment are to be well-managed and cared for in a way that reflects His glory.
Scripture: Genesis 2:15; Psalm 24:1; 1 Corinthians 10:31; Revelation 4:11
6. Our responsibility is to serve others with humility, expecting nothing in return. Our dealings will be fair and to the advantage of others, not ourselves.
Scripture: Philippians 2:3–4; Mark 10:45; Galatians 5:13; Romans 12:10
