What a blessing to hear the perspective of alumni of Central Africa Baptist University about their time here. It is to God’s glory that 95% of our alumni are serving the Lord formally and informally through local churches in 13 countries across Africa. God has truly been gracious!
The other day I ran across an unsolicited post from Hon Kapui, a police chaplain who graduated from CABU with an undergrad in Bible.
Kapui Matakala, a Zambia Police chaplain and sign-language speaker, first joined CABU in 2017 for a chaplaincy block course. Compelled by a desire to deepen his biblical understanding and improve his service to the Deaf community, he pursued a Bible degree and a Certificate in Sign Language and Deaf Studies, graduating in 2022.
Here is what he shared:

The four years I spent at Central Africa Baptist University are truly worth praising. Those years molded me into a servant leader—one who understands that leadership is not about status or authority, but about humility and service to others.
At CABU, I had the privilege of studying in an environment deeply rooted in biblical truth and academic excellence. The institution does not merely train the mind; it transforms the heart. Every course, chapel service, and mentorship session was intentionally designed to build character, strengthen integrity, and cultivate a passion for God’s mission.
During my time there, I learned that effective leadership flows from a life surrendered to Christ. I discovered the power of serving with humility, the importance of integrity in every decision, and the joy of influencing others positively through a godly example.
Both the faculty and my fellow students played a significant role in shaping my worldview. Their commitment to Scripture and to excellence inspired me to approach life and ministry with diligence, prayer, and purpose. I left the university not only with academic knowledge but with a deep conviction that leadership is stewardship—a sacred trust given by God to serve others faithfully.
Today, as I continue to serve in various leadership roles, the lessons and values I gained at Central Africa Baptist University remain my guiding principles. I am profoundly grateful for the investment the university made in my life, both spiritually and professionally.
Indeed, Central Africa Baptist University is more than an academic institution; it is a life-shaping community where hearts are transformed, minds are renewed, and leaders are equipped to make an eternal impact for the glory of God.
