Zambia Hunt

Our purpose at Central Africa Baptist University is to train a generation of servant-leaders in Africa who will carry out the Great Commission.  Our goal is to help facilitate healthy, indigenous, reproducing churches that will spread the gospel across this continent.

Our philosophy is to intentionally train and equip the “leader of leaders” in an environment committed to the authority of Scripture, passionate for the glory of God, and focused on the Great Commission.

Central Africa Baptist University is unique in its blend of Western influence and partnerships while maintaining distinctly Zambian leadership. We remain a fundamentally African institution, deeply rooted in Zambian soil.

Because we recognize that the future of the gospel in Africa lies in the hands and hearts of the African leaders we are mentoring, we firmly believe that local leaders must be encouraged to grapple with the application of biblical principles within their context. While we have a healthy participation of Western faculty, the lead in these issues remains in the hands of our local leaders.

While CABC, now CABU, began with Western leadership and impetus, we have been committed to true indigenization, which means a shift of leadership from Americans (in this case) to Africans because these godly and gifted men know their culture better than outsiders ever will. The crucial process of applying biblical principles appropriately within a specific time and place necessitates this kind of sanctified insider discernment. 

The goal is to train men not to plant Western churches in Zambia but biblically sound, gospel-preaching Zambian (African) churches.  The goal of God-centered worship in this culture is best served through the leadership of these godly, gifted men who have been trained in the Scriptures to engage in this very kind of ministry task.

At CABU, we are committed to the continued development of this level of leadership in Africa. We are committed to walking together in a spirit of mutual love, respect, and submission.  It is a privilege to train and partner with the next generation of servant-leaders in Africa.  May God be glorified through the indigenous propagation of the gospel across Africa.
