Central Africa Baptist University exists to train the next generation of servant leaders in Africa for Great Commission living. While we are not exclusively training pastors, that mission lies at the heart of our vision.

Our goal is to raise up Christian leaders who possess a biblical theology, a Great Commission heart, embrace a high view of God, and maintain a love for the local church. Regardless of where they go or what work they find themselves involved with, their purpose is to serve Christ and His mission in this generation.

The training at Central Africa Baptist University occurs on our campus through degree and diploma programs in Bible studies and primary education for teacher training. At the postgraduate level, we offer a Master of Arts degree with a goal to add a Master of Divinity program.

Graduates from the university are serving in more than a dozen countries across the continent, planting churches, pastoring congregations, doing missionary work, and being involved in other ministries such as publishing, orphanage work, and education.

We encourage our graduates, after completion of their program, to complete a one-year internship at a local church. We have established an internship fund to help local churches who take our graduates with the financial burden.

Theological Studies by Extension

Another avenue of ministry critical to our mission is our Theological Studies by Extension program. Estimates suggest that nine out of ten pastors in this region have never had the opportunity for formal theological training. We are seeking to triage this issue by providing modular training to cohorts of pastors across Central, Eastern, and Southern Africa.

We have enrolled over 2,400 students in this 12-week program. Faculty and other qualified trainers are sent on location, providing a week of theological education and leaving the pastors with notes and a book to help them in their ministry.

Imbila Publishers

As we seek to train men for ministry, the need for affordable theological and ministry resources led us to establish Imbila Publishers. Launched in March 2024, Imbila works in partnership with other publishing companies to produce resources for distribution to the network of pastors we are training, while making these materials available to the Christian community as a whole.

Our goal is to help develop African authorship and publish in Africa for Africa. We welcome partnerships to cover the cost of publishing these volumes that will be distributed across the region.

Invitation to Partner For Gospel Advance

Central Africa Baptist University stands committed to addressing the critical need for well-trained Christian leaders across Africa. Through our campus programs, extension studies, internship opportunities, and publishing initiatives, we are building a comprehensive ecosystem to equip the next generation of servant leaders.

As we look to the future, we invite you to partner with us in prayer, financial support, and practical involvement. Together, we can strengthen the Church in Africa by preparing men and women who will faithfully proclaim God’s Word and advance Christ’s kingdom throughout the continent and beyond.
