Purpose for Scholarships at Central Africa Baptist University (CABU)
At Central Africa Baptist University, we recognize the transformative power of Christian higher education in nurturing leaders who are equipped to make a significant impact in their communities, churches, and the broader world in which they live and serve. Understanding the financial challenges that many prospective students face, CABU is committed to providing a range of scholarships and bursaries designed to make quality Christian education accessible to those who are most in need and to those who show faith, purpose, and exceptional potential.
Our scholarship program is crafted to support a diverse group of students, including but not limited to the financially underprivileged, theologically driven individuals, pastors and their families, and members of unreached people groups. Each scholarship category has been thoughtfully established to discuss specific needs and aspirations, ensuring that financial constraints do not hinder talented and dedicated individuals from pursuing their educational and ministerial goals at CABU.
The scholarships offered at CABU include:
- Vulnerable Person Scholarship: Aimed at providing full support to Zambian residents who are considered vulnerable, covering both tuition and accommodation.
- 10/40 Scholarship: Designed for applicants from unreached people groups or areas within Africa, supporting CABU’s vision of spreading the gospel across the continent.
- Spouse Scholarship: Available to spouses of full-time Bible students, encouraging family participation in theological education.
- Timothy Scholarship: Tailored for local pastors to equip individuals they are mentoring for ministry, covering tuition fees for Bible degree or diploma programs.
- The Andrew Foster Scholarship and The Ursula Rasmussen Scholarship: These scholarships focus on empowering the Deaf Christian community in Africa, honoring the legacy of pioneers in Deaf education and ministry.
- Pastor/Alumni Scholarship and Staff/Faculty Scholarship: These give support to the biological children of pastors, CABU alumni, and staff or faculty members, facilitating their pursuit of biblical education.
- Financial Grant: A one-time donation to help current students with their financial needs, emphasizing CABU’s commitment to supporting its student body.
Our scholarships are not just financial aids; they are investments in the Kingdom of God, aiming to equip committed Christians with the knowledge, skills, and spiritual knowledge need to lead and serve the church effectively in various capacities. By alleviating the financial burden, CABU enables students to focus on their studies and spiritual growth, fostering a generation of leaders who are ready to make a difference in the world for Christ.
In line with our mission, the scholarship program at CABU is governed by principles of fairness, transparency, and stewardship. We rely on the generosity of donors and the careful allocation of resources to sustain and expand our scholarship offerings. Prospective students are encouraged to apply, demonstrating their need, potential, and commitment to serving God’s purpose through their education at CABU.
Central Africa Baptist University is more than an academic institution; it is a community where future leaders are molded, prepared, and equipped to fulfill the Great Commission. Our scholarships are a pivotal part of this mission, removing barriers to education and empowering students to achieve their God-given potential.
