Zambia Hunt

One day in Africa, I got some very sad news. A friend from my church named Charles had died. He was sick for a long time, and now he had gone to heaven.

I went to his house to be with his family. We sat together and read from the Bible. We prayed and tried to make each other feel better.

Later, we had to take my friend to the hospital. The doctor checked to make sure he had really died. Then we took him to a special cold room where people are kept after they die.

The next day, we had a funeral. Lots of people came to say goodbye. We sang songs and talked about how much we loved our friend. Some people were very sad and cried.

After that, we went to a big field called a cemetery. There were many, many graves there. We put our friend’s body in the ground and covered it with dirt. We put flowers on top to show we cared.

Even though we were sad, we remembered that our friend loved Jesus. The Bible tells us something very special about people who love Jesus. Jesus was talking to his friend Mary in John 11:25. Mary’s brother Lazarus had just died, Jesus said,“I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die”

This means that even though our bodies may die if we believe in Jesus, our souls live forever with Him in heaven. It’s like going to sleep here and waking up in the most wonderful place ever!

You should memorize John 11:25 because it will comfort you when you hear about a Christian who has died.

We can be sad when someone dies because we’ll miss them. But we can also be happy knowing that if they loved Jesus, they’re in a beautiful place with no more sickness or sadness.

Remember, Jesus loves you very much. He wants you to believe in Him so that one day, you can live with Him forever, too. Isn’t that amazing news?
